This polar bear coloring page shows a big, friendly bear resting on a rounded snow mound right beside one small pine tree while snowflakes drift down around them. Because the shapes are open and easy to see, this coloring sheet works well for preschoolers and older kids alike. It is a quiet, screen-free, hands-on activity for a chilly afternoon, whether your child prefers broad wax crayons or colored pencils.
About polar bears and winter snow
In the real world, polar bears live up north in the Arctic, where they roam across sea ice and snowy coastlines. Because penguins live only in the Southern Hemisphere, polar bears and penguins never actually meet in the wild, even though they often share space on holiday cards. Even though a polar bear's coat looks pure white against the snow, you can shade the fur with very pale blue, soft gray, or warm cream so the bear stands out from the snowy mound beneath it.
Coloring and printing tips
- Paper choice: Standard copy paper (20 lb / 80 gsm) works well for crayons and colored pencils, while cardstock (65 lb / 160 gsm) handles markers without bleeding through.
- Printer settings: Each PDF download is formatted for US Letter paper at 100% scale in black and white, and also prints cleanly on A4 when you select fit to page.
- Adding contrast: Try coloring the small pine tree in deep forest greens and shading the background sky light blue so the white snowflakes pop.
- Terms of use: All pages on my site are free for personal, classroom, and homeschool use, but not for resale; please read my disclaimer for full details.
