Five round baubles hang at staggered heights on this Christmas ornaments coloring page, each one featuring a large, simple pattern. Hit print for a quiet, screen-free, hands-on activity while you put up the tree.
Having five separate baubles on a single coloring sheet gives older kids and adults plenty of room to experiment with color palettes, while the bold shapes remain approachable for younger children. Gel pens, crayons, and watercolor pencils all work nicely on these open geometric bands and dots. You can print a few copies so everyone at the table designs a matching ornament set.
Traditions of hanging tree baubles
Families have decorated winter evergreens with fruit, nuts, paper chains, and shiny trinkets for generations. Because decorative traditions grew gradually across many regions and workshops, there is no single invention date for the round ornament, though mouth-blown glass baubles became popular through European cottage glassblowers before spreading worldwide. Today, households mix heirlooms with homemade paper cutouts and shatterproof spheres.
Coloring and printing tips
- Choose the right stock: Print on standard copy paper (20 lb / 80 gsm) for everyday crayons and pencils, or load cardstock (65 lb / 160 gsm) for felt-tip markers and glitter glue.
- Print settings: This PDF download is set to US Letter at 100% scale in black and white, and prints cleanly on A4 paper using fit to page.
- Add a highlight: Leave a small curved white strip uncolored on one side of each bauble to make the round ornament look shiny like glass.
- Sharing policy: You are welcome to print copies for personal, classroom, or homeschool use (never for resale) under my terms of use.
